At Patricia’s Dachshund Home, rehoming isn’t just about finding a family — it’s about finding the right family.
Every dachshund that comes to us deserves safety, patience, and unconditional love. Our goal is to ensure each puppy is placed in a home that matches their personality, temperament, and needs.
Because every tail wag tells a story — and every story deserves a happy ending
We’ve designed our rehoming process to be safe, simple, and stress-free — for both our dachshunds and their new families.
When a dachshund arrives at Patricia’s Dachshund Home, we begin with a full health and behavior assessment. They’re examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated, and given time to adjust to a loving environment.
Each dachshund receives an individual profile on our website with photos, personality notes, and background information. We want adopters to truly know each puppy before applying.
Interested adopters fill out our detailed Adoption Application form. This helps us learn about their lifestyle, family, home, and experience with dogs — so we can make the best match possible.
Once we find a potential match, we schedule a meet-and-greet (in person or virtual). We let both the family and the dachshund interact naturally — comfort, connection, and chemistry matter most! If all goes well, the adoption is approved.
After approval, the adopter completes the rehoming agreement and pays a small adoption fee to help cover care costs. We provide a complete health record, vaccination history, and starter care guide. But our support doesn’t end there — we stay in touch to ensure each dachshund settles happily into their new home.
